The Farm and the Farmers

Mahonia Gardens is a one-acre market garden operating in Sisters, Oregon, dedicated to growing quality produce. We provide food to Sisters and Bend. Labor on the farm is done by hand, using ergonomic handtools including broadforks, the wheel hoe, and digging forks to create and maintain beds. While we are not certified organic, we use absolutely no harmful chemicals in our production—no pesticides, herbicides, chemical fertilizers or anything.

2024 will be our 12th season as a market farm. We grow around 40 vegetable crops, as well as herbs and flowers.

Mahonia Gardens was started by Carys Wilkins and Benji Nagel in 2013.
We love plants and bugs and soil and our kids.

We sell primarily through our farm stand, as well as through the Central Oregon Locavore and Agricultural Connections (click for more information on these businesses).

The Stand

Welcome to The Stand! Our farm stand opens at the beginning of May and closes the end of October. We are located At 254 E. Adams Ave. in Downtown Sisters.

We sell seasonal products, mainly fresh produce from our farm. We also bring in veggies and other items from local producers. These include pasture raised eggs, seasonal organic berries, flour, honey, flowers, and more. Any food that we bring in from other sources is produced with organic/sustainable practices. Even more, we know personally and have relationships with the growers, and trust their practices.

Last year we brought in food from:
